About Play Therapy
Play Therapy is a developmentally appropriate treatment modality which affords the child patient the means to heal emotional wounds, resolve conflict, express and master feelings and work through trauma while utilizing the innate impulse to play and while maintaining ego defenses. Play therapy has its roots in the early psychoanalytic movement and has become today the treatment of choice for the young child. This workshop is suitable for mental health professionals with at least master’s degree including psychiatric nurses, social workers, school counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists.
